Stay – The Bankfoot Steading

A luxury holiday steading retreat for two in Perthshire, Scotland

The Bankfoot steading is a relaxing retreat set on the fringes of the Scottish Highlands, nestled just outside the villages of Bankfoot and Dunkeld. Built from traditional stone, the 200 year old steading is the epitome of rural charm, yet it also boasts a contemporary and elegant interior. Situated on the first floor with a dedicated entrance hallway and staircase.

Steading accommodation

Entrance

The Steading is a complete facility with its own front door. The entrance vestibule is all on the ground level, an open area for shoes, jackets and outdoor wear with slate flooring. The staircase to the accommodation opens here and there is a cupboard under the stairs with a number of household items including a hoover, ironing board and iron. The entrance area also has a rear door, which has direct access to a small garden area with decking and a seating area, which is private to guests.

Upstairs Landing

The stairs open up onto a large, bright landing with light flooding out from the bright living space but it also has a cosy/naughty corner with a chair and lamp, perfect for chilling out with a book or a magazine.

Kitchen/Living Area

The living space is a bright yet cosy area for cooking, dining and relaxing. With an abundance of velux and low level windows there are some wonderful views across the fields to the hills. When the light fades there are blinds to pull and a wood burning stove to light with an unlimited supply of wood to keep you warm on a chilly day. Alternatively, if you are staying in during the summer months, the velux windows open wide to the sounds of nature and some wonderful fresh country air. A three seater sofa and comfy armchair circle the fire and a wall mounted flatscreen smart TV. If you fancy cooking during your stay there is a fully equipped kitchen and a little welcome hamper on your arrival. At the side of the room is the perfect table for two.

Bedroom

Off the landing is the entrance to an internal hallway and the entrance to the bedroom. A luxury king sized bed with bedside tables and lamps. There is a chest of drawers houses the hair dryer and there is hanging space provided by way of a rail and hangers.

Bathroom

The large bathroom is located directly opposite the bedroom. There is a large walk-in shower with rainforest shower head and separate mixer, WC and basin as well as a huge double ended bath with a view…..which would you choose? At the Steading you can have both!

Garden

The garden bounds onto the surrounding farmland and estate land. Accessed by the rear door there is a lawned area and a decking area with table and chairs. On a sunny day this area of the garden gets the sun from midday until sunset.

Are we dog friendly?

No pets, sorry.

Parking and Car charging

The Steading is accessed by a private driveway with a large area at the top for parking. We do have a car charger and this can be used by guests. Please let us know when booking if you will require use of the charger.

Guest Privacy

The Steading accommodation is in a stand alone steading building on our 2 acre property. Guests will have complete privacy knowing that if there is anything they need we are just across the drive.

Wifi and mobile coverage

We had satellite broadband (Starlink) installed and are spoiled with an amazing connection. The wifi password will be available to you once you check in.

Heating

The Steading has central heating and a wood fired stove. You will never be cold.

Disabled access

The Steading is accessed by a staircase and unfortunately there is no disabled access.

Emergency escape

Following safety guidelines we have two escape routes in case of an emergency. One in the bedroom and one in the living area.
